Paik's Noodle Columbus (홍콩반점): Reviews & Ratings
I first met Paik Jong-won back when he was just a start up restaurateur hustling his way through the Seoul food scene, running his first jjam bong joint. I remember him chatting about plans to launch a jjajang mein spot next—ambitious even then. Fast forward, and this guy’s turned into a global restaurant empire and bona fide celebrity (Culinary Class Wars on Netflix). So when his franchise landed in Columbus, I had to make the drive up from Cincinnati. Korean Chinese food around here? Practically nonexistent. I was damn curious. Was it the same as back in Korea? Not quite. The sweet and sour pork missed some magic; the batter felt a bit off. But the spicy fried chicken? Nailed it. The black noodles leaned too sweet, yet still satisfying. The place has this odd quasi self-service setup that had me scratching my head, but the food came out fast, and the lady running the joint was straight-up friendly. It’s an experience worth the trip—Columbus, don’t sleep on this one.
Great place for Korean-Chinese in Columbus! We loved the order at your table via iPad ordering style! The staff was so friendly and checked on us multiple times! The self-serve radish and condiment station was a really great edition! Make sure to get a bowl of yellow radish, they really make the meal! The jajangmyeon was so delicious and savory. We also tried the creamy fried shrimp that were crispy in an addictively creamy sauce! Overall it was a very nice, satisfying meal! The restaurant was very clean and I cannot rave enough about how kind and helpful the staff was. We will be back time and time again!
This new open Korean noodle shop was amazing. I ordered the signature chili Jajangmyeon. It tasted authentic with a decently thick sauce and juicy pork. The price was good and the size was great. But I wish there would be more pork in my noodle. Free pickled onions and radishes were available. WiFi was fast. The Korean boss was friendly and nice. Definitely will come back to try more decent Korean entrees. The seafood noodle and spicy tofu hotpot looked attractive.
There's plenty of parking in the lot and a decent amount of seating inside. It is seat yourself and there are tablets at each table to order from and you can also order up front. It's a bright space, inviting, and lively! It felt very homey and cozy. There was a lot of families and groups when we came in. We got the Stir Fried Jajangmyeon and Jjampoong. The dishes came out hot and fresh with plenty of toppings in each. The flavors were incredible and delicious! The plates are pretty hefty and good for the price. There's a self-service condiment and utensils bar towards the cash register but each table also has a few things. Everything was easy to order and to get. Once you order on your tablet, be sure to pay attention to the front for your number to be put up. You go to the front and pick it up at the counter. Staff was incredibly kind and so nice! They all were very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this place for an authentic and delicious meal, delicious food, and incredible staff. Good place for families, small groups, casual hangouts, or just for good food.
First time and quite a nice surprise here in the Graceland area. Paik’s is more Korean-Chinese comfort food (noodles and bean sauces) rather than your standard Korean (kimchi, bbq meats). Ordered the Beef Jjamppong which is very similar to any beef and cabbage soup. But here, they add chewy noodles and mushrooms. Also, ordered fried dumplings and their crispy steamed buns. The buns are like fried donuts, and serving it with sweet condensed milk is genius. Clean restaurant, plenty of parking, and service was quick, friendly and polite. Definitely will visit again. Highly recommended.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The appetizers were absolutely delicious — the garlic soy chicken was perfectly crispy and really flavorful. The stir-fried jjajangmeyon (쟁반 짜장면) was impressive and achieved the 뿔맛 that is what we look for with jjajangmeyon! The authentic tastes must be from the 할머니 working hard in the kitchen! We also got beef jjamppong (비프 짬뽕) and it ess perfectly savory! Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked nice. There's jjajang sauce, fresh diced onions, and pickled cabbage (단무지) at a self-serve bar. Limited drink selection and another thing to note: the ordering system is more like what you'd find in Korea. After ordering on the kiosk at the table, when you hear a chime you’ll need to keep an eye on the screen at the counter for your number. It’s efficient and gives the place a casual, fast-paced vibe. Just be ready to grab your food when your number pops up! Overall, highly recommended for anyone who loves Korean cuisine or wants to try something new and authentic. I’ll definitely be back!
The best food in Ohio for sure! Food was absolutely amazing, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is clean and nice. As a Korean, it tastes just like Korea and I could say it is even better! I will absolutely come back! 진짜 진짜 진짜 맛있어요!!!
What a great experience at Paik's Noodle Columbus. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted just like I had experienced when I was in Korea, and the prices were very fair for the big portions. The service was outstanding and very very friendly. I can't wait to go back! My new favorite in Columbus!
